She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Johnson and Gladys Johnson (Colvin); her husband Norman McLain; her son Ron Mergen; her siblings, Mary Arola and Frank Johnson; and her son-in-law Nate Linder.
She is survived by: her children, Dee Linder of Freeport, IL and Roger Kampmier (Dena) of Davis, IL; her daughter-in-law Shirley Mergen; her grandchildren, Nate Linder (Becky), Kimberley Keil (Andrew), Heath Linder (Jen), Lisa Miller (Rob), Amy Soto, Kyle Kampmier (Kari) and Ryan Kampmier (Rachel); and her close friends, Sandy Langley and Judy Mercier. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Phyllis' memory.
