He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Schwartz and Victoria Schwartz (Blackbourn); his son-in-law Daniel Dixon; and his siblings, Mary Gobel, Wilma, Judy, Robert, Francis and Paul Schwartz.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Schwartz of Freeport, IL; his children, Vicky Schwartz of Freeport, IL, Margaret "Peggy" Dixon of Cedarville, IL, Tim Schwartz of Algonquin, IL, Pat Schwartz (Dawn) of Naples, FL and Kelley Cassels of Whigham, GA; his brother Don Schwartz of Galena, IL; his grandchildren, Richard Dixon (Sara), Jeremy Dixon (Karla), Alex Schwartz (Charlotte), Nathan Schwartz, Kaitlin Johnson (Chris), Sam Cassels and Lauren Cassels; and his great grandchildren, Jeremia Dixon, Mackynzie Dixon, Parker Dixon and Carson Dixon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
