It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry L. Pfile of Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Pfile and Wilda Pfile (Shank); his former wife Judith Clark; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Hardaway and Steve Siebert.
He is survived by: his wife Sally Bardell; his children, Pam Keister (Bill) of St. Cloud, FL, Kim Hershberger of Ft. Myers, FL, Vickie Milks (Troy) of Beloit, WI and Brad Pfile (Sally) of Freeport; his stepchildren, Loraine Plaster (Tom) of Freeport and Dan Bardell (Andrea) of Bottineau, ND; his siblings, Marlene Hardaway of Freeport, Margie Siebert-Armstrong (Tim) and Dean Pfile (Coleen) of Freeport; and his stepbrother Kevin Gerloff. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in his name for a ministry that was near and dear to his heart, the MCC Canning Ministry at Freeport Mennonite Church.
