He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Kasten and Emma Kasten (Ward); and his half-sisters, Ida Palmer, Phyllis Foley Poffenberger and Jean Uphoff.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Charles; his children, Chris Berg (Margaret) and Wendy Holmes (Kyle); and his sister Carole Fluegel.
