He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Edler and Hattie Edler (Dinderman); his son Kurt; his grandson AJ Pax; and his stepson Bari Raymer.
He is survived by: his former wife Leah Herman; his wife Sharon Elbeck of Freeport; his children, Dale Edler (Janet) of Orangeville, Greg Edler (Kathy) of Lena, Brian Edler (Kay) of Freeport and Marcia Pax (Laverne) of Lena; his stepchildren, Alan Weegens (Jube), Mark Weegens (Rhonda) of Arkansas, Terry Weegens (Deb) of Colorado, Todd Weegens (Glena) of Freeport, Kenneth Raymer (Jennifer) of Lake, Lisa Wienand (Don) of Lena, Todd Raymer (Alice) of Wisconsin and Scot Raymer of Winslow; and his daughter-in-law Gerene Raymer of Lena. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in his memory for the Grace Free Methodist Church.
