He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi N. Keister and Mildred Keister; and his siblings, Bill, Robert, Mary Jane, Cynthia, Phylis and Marge.
He is survived by: his wife Karen J. Gahm; his sons, Mark, Scot, Steve and Jeff Keister; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Abby, Kaylie (Cory Polsean) and Ashlyn (Jeremy Lehmann); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Kenna, Hunter and Levi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for Freeport Fire and Ambulance Service.
