With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy D. Whitson of Freeport, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 19, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Dorothy's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Dorothy has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eilery M. Runkle and Minnie Runkle (Kuhl); and her husband William A. Whitson. She is survived by: her cousin Ann Runkle; and her pet Farley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Homes - Freeport (504 N Walnut Ave, Freeport, IL 61032). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established in Dorothy's memory.
