He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVerne William and Florence Richter (Dreier); his brother Douglas; and his son-in-law Carl. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Johnson of Freeport, IL; his daughters, Dawn Granath of Rockford, IL and Debbi Pettersen (Mike) of North Liberty, IA; his brother Dennis Richter (Jackie) of Freeport, IL; his grandchildren, Madasyn Pettersen, Isabella Pettersen, Andrew Granath, Emma Granath and Benjamin Granath; his cousin Mary Lou Huffington (Bob); his nephew Shane Richter (Michelle); and his niece Stacey Winter.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Dave's memory.
