He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Ruter and Martha Ruter; his parents-in-law, Robert and Ruby Haijenga; his son Davin; his siblings-in-law, Carroll, Ivan Haijenga and Darla Haijenga; his nephew Brian Haijenga; and his pet Charlie.
He is survived by: his wife Duska Haijenga; his daughters, Renee Setterstrom (Bruce) of Monroe, WI and Christine Williams (Craig) of Freeport, IL; his grandsons, Jacob Setterstrom of Monroe, WI and Nicholas Setterstrom of Monroe, WI; and his siblings, Paul Z Ruter of New Paltz, NY and Marlene Ford (Brad) of Polo, IL. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
A memorial fund has been established.
