It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Groth (Freeburg, Illinois), born in Swanwick, Illinois, who passed away on August 20, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Orville Groth; her son Wayne Groth; her grandson Brian Groth; her father Hugh Green; her stepfather Leslie Gerlach; her siblings, Delbert Green (Ann), Vernon Green (Ruby), Lawrence, Ivan Green, Helen Lea Gerlach and Vivian Rose Green; and her siblings-in-law, Lorena Groth, Viola Goss (Milton), Elvira Gornick (Bob), Marie Kessler (Dean), Florence Wiskamp (Harry), Pat Green, Hilmar Groth, Bill Johnson and Roy McKinley.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Groth (Pat) of Freeburg, IL, Roger Groth (Beverly) of Edwardsville, IL, Edward Groth (Carol) of Richmond, KY and Charlotte Kuhl (Randy) of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren, Monica Farrar (Jay), Cheryl Groth, Mark Groth (Shannon), Katrina Groth (John Burke), Nicholas Groth (Heather), Anthony Groth, Alex Kuhl, Eric Kuhl and Ariel Groth; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Ava Farrar, Benjamin, Margaret, Andrew, Brandon, Brady and Oliva Groth; her siblings, Opal Johnson, Genavie McKinley and Floyd Green; her sisters-in-law, Marjorie Smith (Don), Ruth Ann Groth and Nancy Green; and also Quilters.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, to Hospice of Southern Illinois, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
