It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oscar Skaer (Freeburg, Illinois), who passed away on May 15, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar P. and Kathryn; his siblings, Marjorie Skaer and Milton; his sister-in-law Dorothy Skaer; his sister Evelyn; his brother-in-law Arthur Weiss; and his nieces, Marilyn Skaer Pittman and Kathryn Weiss.
He is survived by: his wife Rose; his children, Michael Skaer (Jan) of Pasadena, TX, Jill Halupa (Vladimir) of Belleville, IL, Mark Skaer of Trenton, IL, Charles Skaer of St. Louis, MO, Jane Skaer (Scott Laurent) of Kansas City, MO, Mary McGraw (Joe) of New Athens, IL, Laura Skaer of Belleville, IL and Christopher Skaer (Judy) of Roswell, GA; his grandchildren, Jason Skaer (Kellye), Oscar Skaer (Ria), Becky Lisle (Matt), Helena McGettigan (Joseph), Andrea Sanford (Jason), Molly Skaer, Emily Skaer, Anne Piasecki, Sophia Piasecki, Jeremiah Laurent, Lauren Bagsby (Ricky), Nicholas McGraw, Leo Skaer and Greg Skaer; and his great grandchildren, James Skaer, Jude Skaer, Logan Frazier, Bennett Frazier, Nate Frazier, Lincoln Frazier, Evi Frazier, Michael Vincent Paul Skaer, Andrew Lisle, Evan McGettigan, Jonah Sanford, Miller Sanford and Alexandria Sanford.
Funeral: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services are private.
