It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Davitz of Freeburg, Illinois, born in Chester, Illinois, who passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jerry, Ronald Davitz and Marcella Stirnaman (Delbert). He is survived by: his wife Frances E. "Fran"; his daughter Mary Frances "Josie" Davitz; his siblings, Bonnie Todd (Carl "Spot") and Fred Davitz (Linda); and his goddaughter Lisa Wittenborn (Jay). He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in the form of masses to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
