With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Maurer (Freeburg, Illinois), born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on June 8, 2018 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband David C. Maurer; her parents, Boyd E. and Audrey E.; her brothers, John Sorensen, Donald Sorensen and Eugene Sorensen; and also Hornberger.

She is survived by: her sons, John Porth (Debbie), David Porth (Renee) and Jim Porth (Jackie); her grandchildren, Crystal (Brian), Stefanie (Clayton), Mike (Cara), Ryan (Katy), Erin (Kenny), Ashley (Mike), Sarah (Jesselee), Elizabeth and Matthew; and her great grandchildren, Megan, Patrick, Tyler, Jayden, Tessa, Lexa, Cameron, Tye, Kade and Brooke. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, or to Fountain View Manor Memory Care, Granite City, IL.
