With solemn reverence, we commemorate Daniel Zika of Freeburg, Illinois, whose life came to an end on February 24, 2025 at the age of 66, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father George Zika; and his father-in-law Elmer Taylor. He is survived by: his mother Mary Zika; his wife Sharon Zika; his daughter Hayley; his sisters, Mary Joan Gober (Eric Kohrmann), Lynn Weidenbenner (Daniel) and Kathleen Zika-Welty (Gary); his mother-in-law Marcella Taylor; his sisters-in-law, Margaret Smith (Jim), Shirley Judd and Mary "Kat" Taylor; his nieces and nephews, Lexi Waugh (Austin), Liza Gober, Cole Gober (Alexa), Whitney Weidenbenner-Buckham (Daulton), Olivia Weidenbenner-Roerick (Garrett), Dustin Woodcock (Alley), Dalton Woodcock (Mataya), Jamie Smith, Stacey Williams (Art), John Smith (Kristin) and Christy Russo (Mike); and his great-nephew Bodie Waugh.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (6 N Alton St, Freeburg, IL 62243).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Donations may be made to Sharon's Venmo handle at @szika1 or make checks payable to Sharon Zika.
