He is survived by: his wife Sandra Holmes (Herzig); his children, Mike Holmes (Lara), Brandon Holmes (Twiggy) and Maura Holmes (Matt); his grandchildren, Chi Holmes and Dexter Holmes; and also Peter Holmes, Jr..

Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home (3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
