He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Sylvester and Floy Mae Jones Gruen (Arbuckle); his son Terry Donnell Jones; and his siblings, Arlynn Jones and Freda Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Orval E. Jones (Lilly) of Oklahoma City, OK, Lisa Schmitt of Fenton, MO, Michael Jones of Olney, IL and Stephanie L. Jones of Belleville, IL; and his sister Reba Jones of New Athens, IL.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the New Athens Methodist Church (201 S Clinton St, New Athens, IL 62264).
Memorial donations in Alva's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
