It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernice L. Bergschneider of Franklin, Illinois, who passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred E. Hermes and Elizabeth Ridder Hermes; her daughter Julie Elizabeth Bergschneider; her siblings, Bernard, Leo, Richard "Dick" Hermes and Rosemary Miller; and her siblings-in-law, Sally O'Meara, Albert Miller, James Sellars, Harry Bourn and Howard DeGroot.
She is survived by: her former husband Ed Bergschneider; her children, Beverly Watson of Franklin, Mike Bergschneider (Stephanie) of Jacksonville, Tony Bergschneider (Dana) of Jacksonville, Karen Walker of Jacksonville, Alice Greenwood (Mark) of Franklin, Don Bergschneider (LeAnn) of Franklin, Sara Roegge (Bruce) of Jacksonville and Jennifer Claussen (Jody) of Jacksonville; her sisters, Lillian DeGroot of Jacksonville, Elizabeth "Betty" Bourn of Jacksonville and Christine Lawless (Joe) of Jacksonville; her sister-in-law Jackie Hermes of New Berlin; and her husband Franklin Elevator. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
A prayer was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (420 E Wyatt Ave, Franklin, IL 62638).
Memorials are suggested to Prairieland United Way or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
