He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McGrain and Kathleen McGrain (Duffy); his stepmother Helen McGrain (Geckler); his brother William McGrain; his son Michael S. McGrain; and his stepfather John J. Pomazal.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Vorhis of Dixon, IL; his sons, Don McGrain (Michele), Brian McGrain and Matt McGrain (Debra); his siblings, Pat Schmitz, David McGrain and Jim McGrain; and his grandchildren, Megan McLarty (Shaun), Stephanie Johnston (Jake), Michael McGrain, Casey McGrain (Katie), Jake McGrain, Abby McGrain and Elijah McGrain. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew.
