It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Lavern Appelquist of Franklin Grove, Illinois, who passed away on June 20, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Axel W. Appelquist and Ellen E. Appelquist (Fransson); his wife Wanda Marie Neff; and his siblings, Jane Flood, Elvera Shippy, Dixie Carlson, Harold Appelquist and Leonard Appelquist.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Wood (Dusty), Rick Appelquist (Amy), Mark Appelquist (Carol) and Karl Appelquist (Palmira); his grandchildren, Regina Wood-Berry, Heath Wood, Ryan Appelquist, Bridget Walton, Laura Gleissner, Brian Appelquist, Kyle Appelquist and Jacksen Appelquist; and his great grandchildren, Dusten Wood, Owen Wood, Ava Appelquist, Rayden Appelquist, Adelynn Walton, Quintin Walton, Makenna Gleissner, Alexa Gleissner, Erica Gleissner and Isla Appelquist.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
