She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Chapek and Helen Chapek (Sudinski); and her siblings, Bernard Chapek (Marie), Lucille Olen (Leo) and Lorraine Sieja (Walter).
She is survived by: her husband James Unnerstall; her sons, Ronald Unnerstall (Allison) and Alan Unnerstall (Teresa); her sister Rita Robertson (late Jerry); and her grandchildren, Anna Unnerstall, Alex Unnerstall (Kristin Truesdale), Nicklas Unnerstall and Samuel Unnerstall. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
