He was predeceased by: his daughter Ellen Dykstra (Roger); his parents, Nicholas Ettema and Henrietta Ettema; and his brother Calvin Ettema (June). He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Susan Webster (Brady), Kathy Sinwelski (Ed) and Robert Jr. Ettema (Laura); his grandchildren, Joshua Meyer (Mary Beth), Sarah Meyer, Adam, Jacob Meyer (Kelly), Katie Martens (Zack), Colin Ettema (Natasha), Kristy Sinwelski, Joel Dykstra, Owen and Alaina Ettema; his great grandchildren, Hannah Meyer, Eden Meyer, Jude Meyer, Selah Meyer and Madison Meyer; and his brother Curtis Ettema (Linda).
