He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Cranfill and Hazel Cranfill (Wiseman); and his brother R. C.. He is survived by: his wife Lois Bruggeman; his children, Cathy Thorne (Bruce) of West Dundee and John Jr. Cranfill (Julee) of St. Charles; his grandchildren, Tarah O'Connell (Brendan), Brent Thorne (Courtney), Jamie Cranfill and John Cranfill III; and his great grandchildren, Everleigh, Rowan and Dawson.
