Richard Lymon Louderbough Obituary
Richard Lymon Louderbough passed away at his home in Fox River Grove on January 4, 2019 at the age of 54. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Deirdre Reishus; step-daughter, Nina Patterson; step-son, Ryan Asel; grandson, Jace Patterson; granddaughter, Hazel Patterson; mother, Judith Louderbough; sister, Mari (Michael) Adams; niece, Gwendolyn Adams; and nephew, James Adams.
Rich is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Louderbough. Rich was born to Herbert and Judith Louderbough on June 7, 1964 in Jefferson Parish (New Orleans), Louisiana. He was raised in the River Ridge community. Rich received his Bachelor of Science in Management, Business Administration, Management and Operations from the University of New Orleans in 1987.
In 1999, Rich married his wife, Deirdre, in Coppell, Texas. Rich worked as an IT professional in the IT services industry. He held positions as project manager, Director, CTO, and President and Chief Customer Officer throughout his career. Rich was known for his warm southern charm and caring demeanor. He had an extreme love of music (especially live music) and amazing zest for life.
Other passions included playing competitive tennis, watching football (an avid Saints fan), and having a drink and a cigar with his friends. Rich made new friends everywhere he went. He was incredibly outgoing and personable, and he touched many lives personally and professionally. In his early 20's, Rich was diagnosed with - and survived - Hodgkin's lymphoma.
With the realization of recurrence, Rich vowed to live his life to the fullest. He seldom missed an opportunity to make new friends or enjoy new experiences. In the spring of 2018, Rich received a diagnosis of terminal lung cancer. Still, he handled the news with deep grace. Throughout this journey, Rich maintained a selfless view and treasured the love and care he received from his family and friends.
Midway through 2018, Rich ended treatment and transitioned to hospice care in his own home surrounded by the love he deserved. Rich Louderbough represented much that is good in life. He was a fun-loving, peaceful soul who never shied away from expressing his love or his appreciation for the people around him. A memorial service is planned at 11:00 am on January 27, 2019 at the Blue Lotus Temple in Woodstock, IL. (Formal attire not required).
