He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Martin Demski and Helen Demski; his son John Steve Demski, Jr.; and his sisters, Glady Kuras, Eleanor Haugland and Irene Borys.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Sherry Schultz (Gary), Oscar John Steve (Ockie), Laurie Behrendt (Skip), Terri Nystrom (Craig) and Kerry Pierce-Demski (Patty); his grandchildren, Jen Backer (Jeff), Matt Schultz (Ali), Kimber Schultz, Brittany Behrendt, Ashley Huff (Joel), Corrinne Sessions (Clayton), Drake Pierce-Demski and TJ Pierce-Demski; and his great grandchildren, Eric Backer, Ryan Backer, Minnie Schultz, Pypar Schultz, Bodhi Huff, Chesney Sessions and Collins Sessions.
He created the plans, solicited donations, enlisted the aid of volunteers and helped to construct the cottage.
