He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Honegger and Leah Honegger (Rieger); and his brother Lyle Honegger. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughter Marci Rich (Randy) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Alex Rich (Ellie), Tyler Rich (Alyssa) and Kaleigh Curran (Chris); his daughter Dara Surratt (Derrick) of Alexandria; his granddaughters, Caroline and Emily; his son Brent Honegger (Kelly) of Fairbury; his grandchildren, Luke Honegger (Taylor), Brock, Megan and Sam; his brothers, Gordon Honegger (Jean Ann) of Morton and Sam Honegger (Judy) of Albuquerque; and his sister-in-law Kathy Honegger of Fairbury.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his honor to Serenity Villa at Fairview Haven; St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Forrest; or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
