He is survived by: his parents, Scott Michael Short (Rachel Miller) and Martha Martinez (Chad Allen); his fiancée Sierra Retter; his children, Elena Short, Elias of Forrest and Easton Short of Forrest; and his siblings, Andrew Bailey of Odell, Sydney Short of Odell, Sarah Short of Odell, Sierra Allen and Dustin Allen.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Adam M. Short Memorial Fund.
