It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheron Kaye Bortell of Forest City, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Junior Servis and Betty Servis (Gilmore); her son Keith; her grandsons, Christopher and Andrew; and her brother Eugene.
She is survived by: her husband Eldon Bortell of Forest City; her son Bob Bortell of Forest City; her grandchildren, Brandon Bortell (Ashley) of Havana, Jeremy Shingleton of Decatur, Lexus Rickett (Ty) of Georgia and Katie Bortell of Decatur; her daughter-in-law Lauri Bortell of Havana; her siblings, Don Servis (Monell) of Springfield, Dennis (Carol Sexton) of Havana, Glen Servis of Havana, Clara Robison (Ivan) of Kilbourne, Cheryl Hall of Lewistown, Brenda Sweet of Pawnee and Julie Ogden of Colfax; and her great grandchildren, Kyleigh of Havana, Brayden of Havana, Hannah of Havana and Rylan of Havana. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Forest City Community Church (203 West Mkt, Forest City, IL 61532). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Forest City Community Church, Forman Ambulance or Forman Fire Department.
