He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Rexford Sampson and Katharin Hoben Sampson. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Carter Willis "Ginny"; his children, Susan Riefe (David), Katherine Schultz (Charles), Theodore Sampson (Lisa), John Paul Sampson (Amy) and Daniel Sampson; his grandchildren, Grace, Caroline Riefe, Brian, Paul (Kate), Abby, Carter Schultz, Charlotte, Maddy Sampson, Luke, Aria and Farrah Sampson; and his sister Sandy Gobert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Yellow Ribbon Fund or Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve.
