It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Zahara of Flossmoor, Illinois, who passed away on June 3, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Iris Zahara to pay them a last tribute.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Paul; her children, Rebecca Shafir (Samson), Susan Troppoli (Jude), Jamie Zahara (Renee) and Jodie Brugler Kathy (Charlie); her grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Marlee, Hunter, Skye and Aviana; her parents, Dorothy VanZanten and John VanZanten; and her siblings, Norman and Gloria. She was also cherished by aunt to her niece and nephews, a dear friend.

“Our deepest condolences as we learn about the passing of the one and only Mrs Zahara! She was honestly one of the most important people in my sister, Mona and I’s lives as she taught us piano in her studio for years until we left for college (since 1987)! It shaped our love of music to this day and so much more. There is so much that stood out to us about her including her passion for music and teaching but also her sense of humor and love of running, and so much more. Much love, Elaine Kayhan”
