With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carol Ely Scherba R. N., M. ED of Flossmoor, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Carol leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene J. Scherba; and her siblings, Arline (Henry) and James S. T. S. Ely Jr. (Joan). She is survived by: her children, Carol-Rosalie White (Mike) and Eugene J. Scherba Jr. (Stranny); and her grandchildren, Katelyn and Brandon.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 3:00 PM. Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home (19 Lincoln Ave, Rutherford, NJ 07070). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (1 E Passaic Ave, Rutherford, NJ 07070).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an account established for a nursing scholarship that Cookie wished to award to a deserving student, continuing her passion for helping others.
