He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Randall and Zella Murphy (Chandler); his wife Louise Murphy; and his siblings, Dale Murphy, Leland Murphy, Ruth Hall and James Kenneth Murphy.
He is survived by: his former wife Louise Marie Smith; his children, Linda Schnepper (Gary) of Louisville, Roger W. Murphy (Naomi) of Flora and Cheri Gill (Dan) of Flora; his grandchildren, Scott Schnepper (Shelley), Chad Schnepper (Sara), Ryan Schnepper (Sara), Scott Greenwood, Ashley Harrell (Chad), Jenny Ayers (Jamie) and Mitch Gill (Misty); his great grandchildren, Alex, Emma, Gavin, Colin, Talon, Chloe, Garrett, Corbin, Colton, Owen, Maddie, Ava and Ellie; and his sister-in-law Willma Murphy of Casey.
