She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Leonard and Evelyn Rutland (Roy); her husband Owen Earl Smith, Sr.; her brother Robert Bernie Rutland; and her sister-in-law Jewel Rutland.

She is survived by: her children, Owen E. Smith, Jr. (Karen) of Flora, Brenda Sue Joyner (James) of Midlothian and Teresa Ann Alexander (Wade) of Hurdle Mills; her grandchildren, Wendy Jean Greenwood (Derek) of Flora, Owen David Smith (Misty), Jami Killmaster (John) of Nampa, Brandy Lee Horton (Robert) of Naylor, Chad Joyner of Richmond, Taylor Alexander of Hurdle Mills, Hunter Alexander of Hurdle Mills and Hoyt Alexander (Sonya) of Pinetops; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Greenwood of Flora, Brayden Blaize of Avon, Dorian Alexander of Pinetops, Cayla Lee Montgomery of Naylor, Alexandria Killmaster of Nampa and Kellen Killmaster of Nampa; her great great grandchild Harper Rose Pennington of Flora; and her siblings, Raymond Rutland, Jr. (Doris) of Flora and Peggy Jaco of Troy, Illinois..
