With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tom Pemberton of Flora, Illinois, born in Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on March 7, 2024 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Tom Pemberton to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Laverne and Leona Marie Pemberton (Hamilton); his wife Maria Elena "Button" Schoonover; his sons, David Arrah Pickel-Pemberton and Michael Wade Pickel; his son-in-law Michael Sehie; his sisters, Vicki Sue McCracken and Janet Fay England; and his brothers-in-law, Larry England and William "Bill" Leo Schoonover.

He is survived by: his children, Jami Marie Gibbons (Tony) of Louisville, Jacki Michele Sehie of Flora, Chad Pemberton (Deana) of Flora and William Christopher Wildbur (Alicia) of Edgewood; his grandchildren, Jenifer Gibbons (Brandon) of Flora, Jason Gibbons of Flora, Gabriel Gibbons (Kelsey) of Louisville, Mackenzi Windle of Flora, Bart Briscoe of Flora, Sydney Rudolphi (Mason) of Noble, Dallas Mulvaney, Teagan Pemberton (Zeb) of Johnsonville, Brian Pemberton of Flora, Bailey Fleming (Marcus) of Olney, Jayden Fleming of Olney and Halli Stanley of Flora; his great grandchildren, Eli Schnepper, Elena Powless, Alexa, Mariah, Zaine Gibbons, Ethan, Emma, Aaron, Anderson Gibbons (A. J.), Avery Henderson, Reese Briscoe, Kaisley Robinson and Aroliegh Weems; his great great grandchildren, Brynnli and Brysyn; and his siblings-in-law, Ed McCracken Sr. (Dena) of Clay City and Donna Schoonover of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
