He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur "Doc" and Carrie Alice Abner (Kincaid); his wife Carolyn Abner; and his siblings, Mitzi Goldstein and William.

He is survived by: his pet Dottie; his children, Randy Abner (Erica) of Flora, Michelle Pietz (Kenny) of Flora and Jason Abner (Patti) of Los Angeles, CA; and his grandchildren, Jordan Kessler (Josh), Gage Cobb (Lacey), Donovan Cobb (Destinee), Echoe Abner, Elsie Abner, Justin, Adam Pietz, Alexis Abner, William Abner and James Abner. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
