He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Ward and Eileen Imogene Ward (Fisher). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ward of Flora; his daughter Michelle Ward Paxton of Flora; his grandsons, Sean Paxton of Flora and Cory Paxton of Flora; his brothers, Lawrence Ward (Doris) of Geff and Darrell Ward (Connie) of Xenia; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Kunce (Ivan) of Fairfield and Bob Watson of Mt. Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home (500 N Main St, Flora, IL 62839). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or Flora First Methodist Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
