With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Fopay of Flora, Illinois, born in Walnut, Illinois, who passed away on February 5, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Brainard and Sylvia Alice Brainard (Gill); her husband Joseph E. Fopay; her granddaughters, Laura Eileen Fopay and Claire Elizabeth Fopay; her siblings, Barbara Walker (Bill), Mary Jane Warren (Neal) and Neil Brainard; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Jane West (Melvin), Noma Lee Stanley (Bill) and Charles Fopay (Betty).
She is survived by: her children, Ric Fopay (Becky) of Flora, Kim Groothuis (Nik) of Casey, Tyler Fopay (Karen) of Flora and Jon Fopay (Monica) of Effingham; her grandchildren, Vanessa Fopay, Evangeline Fopay, Daniel Fopay (Felicia), Austin Groothuis (Ann), Trent Groothuis (Brandi), Noelle Fopay, Kate Fopay, Amanda Fopay and Johnathon Fopay; her great grandchildren, Landon, Zella, Ashtyn, Bronson, Slade, Zion, Elam, Quincy, Piper, Liam, Dylan, Sedona, Lillian, Ellie, Wren, Brooklyn and Jaxon; her great great grandchild Cooper Miller; and her brother Elbert Brainard of Peoria.
Memorial donations are suggested to the local Flora Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or Clay County Cancer Crusaders, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
