He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Coley" Alva and Mabel Heflin (Fletcher); his son Alan Heflin; his brother Hubert Heflin; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Price and Bob Adkisson.
He is survived by: his former wife Rebecca Sue Mifflin; his wife Rebecca "Becky" Heflin of Flora; his daughters, Renee Phillips (Bryce) of Ingraham and Amy Sue Wilson of Vinita, Oklahoma; his daughter-in-law Stacey Brock (Jeremy) of Oblong, Illinois; his grandchildren, Erin Spence (Matt) of Bartlesville, Dylan Heflin (Shelby) of West York, Dallas Glodo (Ambrea) of Bartlesville, Tyler Heflin of Sacramento California, Jordan Warren of Flora, Angelia Warren of Evansville, Landen Heflin of Oblong and Liam Phillips of Ingraham; and his sisters, Judy Price of Thompsonville, Marjorie Stearns (Robert) of Carbondale and Jeanne Adkisson of Galatia, Illinois. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in James's memory to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or the Olney Baptist Church Association Camp.
