It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Charlene Faris of Flora, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 87, on February 4, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Deckard and Goldie Deckard (Milam); her husband Wendell D. Faris; her son Lawrence Faris; her granddaughter-in-law Trisha Grubaugh; and her siblings, Margaret Schneider, Erma Lally, Martha "Jane" Sager, Emma Michels, Dorothy Yager, Milton Deckard, Arthur "Bud" Deckard and Lawrence Deckard.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Faris (Debra) of Fairview Heights and Penny Grubaugh of Flora; her grandchildren, Rich Grubaugh of Flora, John Grubaugh (Audra) of Flora and Carrie Grubaugh of Flora; and her great grandchildren, Kaleigh of Flora, Brooklyn of Flora, Elleigh of Flora, Nolan Grubaugh of Flora, Jaxon Cole of Flora and Lexi Enlow of Flora. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (901 N Olive Rd, Flora, IL 62839). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Rather than purchasing flowers or other gift items, the family suggests the most meaningful way to honor Charlene's memory is through a donation to either the Flora Public Library, Meals on Wheels, or any charity of the donor's choice.
