Bennie E. Vandaveer Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bennie E. Vandaveer of Flora, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Vandaveer and Mamie Vandaveer (Chapman); his siblings, Bob Vandaveer, Mary Shaw, Ruth Woolridge and Joyce Vandaveer; and his son-in-law Reverend Benjamin Santiago.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Vandaveer of Flora; his daughters, Tammy Santiago of Anderson, Renee Vandaveer (Sheila Terrell) of Flora and Robin Brooks (Don) of Rinard; his grandchildren, David Brooks (Alisha) of Pleasant Hill, Bethany Tannahill (Jake) of Cisne and Lydia Santiago (Marco Vaughn) of Indianapolis, Indiana; his great grandchildren, Trylan of Pleasant Hill, Gwen Brooks (Sissy) of Pleasant Hill, Duke, Ronen Tannahill of Cisne and Kingston Santiago Vaughn of Indianapolis; his siblings, Shirley Caldwell of Mitchell, Bill Vandaveer of Sebastian and Bernie Vandaveer of St. Louis, Missouri; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Williams and Larry McGrew (Becky). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (901 N Olive Rd, Flora, IL 62839). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations are suggested to The Salvation Army, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
