He was predeceased by: his parents, Fritz Hemken and Martha Wilsky Hemken; his grandson Jimmy Yordy; and his sisters, Mary Lou and Ruth.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Weichman; his daughters, Paula Fick of Flanagan, Peggy Yordy (Jim) of Flanagan and Pam Van Weelden of Flanagan; his foster son Nen Chau; his grandchildren, Heidi Fick, Kara Yordy, Drew, Ashley, Kayla, Brady, Rayna Van Weelden, Meaghan Yordy, Tom, Mari and Vivian Chau; his great grandchildren, Will, Declan, Beckett, Mila, Mason and Laila; and his sister Florence Frobish (Lowell).
Cremation has been accorded and his memorial service will be at a later date once Covid-19 restrictions are lowered at St. Petri Lutheran Church, in Flanagan.
Memorials may be given to St. Petri Lutheran Church in Flanagan, or to Flanagan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flanagan.
