He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Thornton and Geraldine Randall Thornton; and his wife Edith Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Alan Potter (Ruby), Shelly Ralph (Clarence), Trish Potter and Brandy Duppel (Jason); and the mother of his children Sandra Thornton. He is also survived by many grandchildren, a great grandchild.
