He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Everett Thomas and Noma Ethel Trotter Voltenburg; his wife Mary McAchran of Findlay; his son Ed (Joy) of Sullivan; his stepson Paul McAchran Jr. (Tamara) of Strasburg; his grandson Nickolas (Emily); and his stepgrandchildren, David Cookson (Angela), Theresa Lutz (Alan), Tamara Cookson, Silas McAchran, Miriah McAchran and Solan McAchran. He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
