He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Otis" and Esta Powers (Pfeiffer); his wife Zelma "Eileen" Donnel; his children, Tim Powers, Donald Powers and Julie Powers; his daughters-in-law, Marla Powers and Lana Powers; his siblings, Leland Powers, Jewell Isley and Lola Venters; his grandson Benjamin E. White; and his stepgrandson Brandon Miller.
He is survived by: his children, John D. Powers (Bonnie) of Windsor, IL, Rick A. Powers (Cathy) of St. Joseph, IL, Jim L. Powers (Bonnie) of Findlay, IL, Cindy E. Johnson of Shelbyville, IL and Bonnie Sue White of Arcola, IL; his daughter-in-law Carol Powers of Shelbyville, IL; and his sister Darlene Helton (Joe) of Shelbyville, IL. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
