He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Schmidt and Louise Schmidt (Honold); his wife Vonda Lee Umdenstock; his son Dennis Eugene; his sisters, Virginia, Teresa, Monica and Genevieve; and his nephew Gary Dean Heilman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Dailey (Jim) of Metamora and Karla Schmidt (Calvin Youman) of Peoria Heights; his grandchildren, Rob Dailey (Kathy) of Metamora, Renee Carrigan (Tom) of Bloomington, IL, Shay Clark of Washington, IL, Jacob Backes of East Peoria, IL and Ashley Backes of Metamora; his great grandchildren, Morgan DuBois (Brandon), Jenna, Katie, Lilly, Averie, Jaxson and Lucas; and his great great grandchild Tatum.
Due to COVID-19, CDC guidelines will be followed.
