It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Mae Smith of Farmington, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former spouses, Wilbur J. Brady and Jesse A. Songer; her husband Raymond W. Smith; her sons, John A. Songer and Jesse E. Songer; and her granddaughter Tracy Songer.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Akers (William) of Peoria and Julie White (Michael) of Peoria; and her grandchildren, Billy Akers (Jackie), Troy Akers, Roy Modglin (Kim), Jeff Modglin (Donna), Steven Songer (Dominic), John Songer, Jason White, Jennifer White, Danny Harden, Donny Harden and Gary Harden. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Kirk Edwards Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Peoria Affiliate Clinic.
