He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Allen and Virginia Allen (Sprouse); and his son Gerald "Bud" Colclasure. He is survived by: his wife Linda Allen of Farina; his children, John N Allen II of Effingham, Melissa Allen of Effingham, Shari Hall (Jim Phillips) of Mason and Jenita Colclasure (Bart Casseday) of Farina; and his siblings, Bob Allen of Farina, Bill Allen (Debbie Motte) of Mattoon, Brenda Sowers (Bruce) of Mason and Joyce Aryes of Caseyville. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials may go to Shriners, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Homes for Our Troops, or the donor's choice.
