He is survived by: his wife Ruth Smithson of Farina; his sons, Brian Smithson (Melodye) of St. Peter, Darin Smithson (Stephanie) of Bedford and Bradley Smithson (Lori) of Loogootee; and his siblings, Everett Smithson (Joyce) of Farina and Elouise Froese (Nathan) of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
