It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William R. Korobey of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley L.; his parents, Pete Korobey and Stella Chomicki Korobey; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Cathie Korobey; and his nephew Tim Korobey.
He is survived by: his children, Pete Korobey (Lisa) of St. Louis County, MO, William R. Korobey Jr. (Joyce) of Millstadt, IL, Catherine Barnello (Jeff) of Fairview Heights, IL and Steve Korobey (Dionne) of Lebanon, IL; his grandchildren, Tara, Billy, Kristine, Kyle, Adrian, Gabrielle, Shelby, Sara and Sydney; his great grandchildren, Rayna, Camryn, Kyliegh, Madilyn, Brantley and Khloe; and his sister Carol Willett (Alan Pressey) of Belleville, IL. He is also survived by 3 nephews & 2 nieces; and 13 great nephews & nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (505 Fountains Pkwy, Fairview Heights, IL 62208).
Memorial donations are preferred to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
