Newell of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, who passed away on March 9, 2025 at the age of 92, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his former wife Colleen Rae Newell; his wife Sue Newell; his parents, John Newell and Elizabeth Newell; and his brothers, Col. John F. Newell, Jr., Thomas Newell and E. Michael Newell.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Linnemeier (James) of Belleville, IL and Pete Newell (Lisa Marie) of Belleville, IL; his grandsons, Eric Linnemeier, Nicholas Linnemeier and Phillip Linnemeier; his children, Adison Newell and Emily Newell; and his great grandchildren, Layla Linnemeier and Jack Linnemeier.

Donations may be made to Catholic Urban Program, or East Side Heart and Home Family Center.
