He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter John and Lydia Obst (McCormick); his stepmother Melva Rose Obst; his wife Peggy June Richter; his children, Scott Anthony Obst and Gina Marie Gabriel; his close friend Ruth Ford of Belleville, IL; his grandson Thomas Scott Gabriel (Kelsey) of Waterloo, IL; his great grandchildren, Konner, Payton, Carter and Reagin; his sister Lydia Sawley (Bill) of Collinsville, IL; his close friend Doug Schuler of Mascoutah, IL; and his cousin Robert "Bob" Krauss (Marilyn) of Swansea, IL. He was also cherished by cousins and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Easterseals or to a charity of the donor's choice.
